On Tuesday, September 12th, Yash Raj Films finally unveiled the trailer of Vicky Kaushal-starring film The Great Indian Family by Vijay Krishna Acharya (acclaimed director of Dhoom 3). Manushi Chillar and Manoj Pahwa also play key roles.
The trailer showcases a narrative set in Balarampur. Kaushal plays Bhajan Kumar, an iconic Hindu figure and singer known for performing religious songs at various events for a fee.
Additionally, this preview provides insight into his family which forms part of a Brahmin community that has lived there for generations.
Things take an exciting and unpredictable turn when Manushi Chillar enters, prompting Vicky’s character to attempt winning her over.
Complications further arise when Bhajan Kumar discovers he may in fact be Muslim – prompting his Hindu family to shun him due to his faith. While the trailer keeps you on edge, its tagline intriguingly refers to this film as being “The Biggest Confusion of the Year”.
